Dead Artists Don’t Need Money is a phrase conceived by Amelia Ford, and turned into artwork in 2020.
With this project, the artist attempts to engage the general public in the art and artists of today. This goes along with the age old adage ‘give people their flowers while they can smell them.’ Beyond that, to just appreciate and bring back the celebrity of the visual artist of today. Why is that musicians and other artists get recognition and accolades for their talents in their lifetime, but it seems as though visual artists have to die first?
